MT. VERNON — On Wednesday, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests to WMIX / WDML News:

19-year-old Diesher Hout of Mt. Vernon was arrested by Mt. Vernon Police Tuesday for theft less than $500.

23-year-old Zachary Higgins of East Alton, IL was arrested Tuesday for obstructing identification and resisting / obstructing a peace officer.

30-year-old Kimberly McLaughlin of Mt. Vernon was arrested by Mt. Vernon Police Tuesday for aggravated battery to a peace officer, resisting or obstructing a peace officer, threatening a public official, and on a parole violation.

34-year-old Michael Newberry of West Frankfort was arrested by Illinois State Police Tuesday on a bond forfeiture warrant.
