CENTRALIA — Centralia Fire Protection District firefighters responded Wednesday afternoon to the Centralia Correctional Center on a hazardous materials call.

The material was reportedly received in the mail room of the prison and was then contained in the warden’s conference room.

Inquiries about the incident are being referred to the Illinois Department of Corrections who has not yet returned calls seeking details of the incident.
