IDOT says starting Monday night at 7, there will be periodic nighttime lane reductions on Route 13 east of Carbondale between Giant City Road and Reed Station Road.

These lane reductions will be present in the eastbound and westbound directions between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.  They are necessary to facilitate the construction of new lanes and shoulders. The work is expected to last into the fall, weather permitting.

Message boards and signs will be in place to remind you about the construction. You should reduce speed, be alert to equipment and workers and use extreme caution while traveling through this area.
