A two-car injury accident happened around 10:45 Saturday morning on Route 13 at Greenbriar Road in Williamson County.

Illinois State Police say 34-year-old Robert Farmer of Johnston City was driving his pickup truck east on Route 13 at the intersection of Route 13 and Greenbriar Road as 33-year-old Brianna Howell of Carterville was driving her car north on Greenbriar at the same intersection.

Farmer became distracted with objects in the vehicle and failed to stop at the red light on Route 13 striking Howell’s car as it entered into the the intersection.

Howell was taken to Herrin Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Farmer was cited for failure to yield at a stop/yield intersection and no valid insurance. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
