A Buckner man is facing tentative charges related to a home invasion early Friday morning.

Franklin County Sheriff Don Jones says deputies responded to a 911 call around 6:20 a.m. reporting that 48-year-old Christopher H. Shurtz had forced his way inside a home in Buckner and attacked a man with a claw hammer.

The victm was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for head injuries.

Shurtz had fled the scene. He was later found shortly after 9 a.m. in rural Macedonia and arrested without incident.

Shurtz is lodged in the Franklin County Jail on tentative charges of home invasion, aggravated battery and unlawful violation of an order of protection. These charges are pending review by the Franklin County State’s Attorney’s Office.

The sheriff says bond as not yet been set by the Circuit Court.
