Bernice Eileen Breeze, 97, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 3:05 P.M. February 6, 2018 at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mount Vernon after undergoing surgery. She was bornMarch 28, 1920 in Jefferson County, Illinois, daughter of the late Gus and Bertha (Sorensen) Draege. Bernice married Verne E. Breeze on January 26, 1941 in Mount Vernon. They were blessed with 62 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on June 18, 2003.

A Celebration of Life for Bernice will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Brother Alan Smith officiating. Friends and family may gather from 9:00 A.M. to service time. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois.

To honor Bernice’s loving, giving spirit, the family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
