Centralia City firefighters responded Tuesday night to a report of a vacant home in the 1400 block of South Pine on fire.

The call came in around 7:06 p.m., and within a few minutes of firefighters arrival on scene they had called in all shifts to assist in fighting the blaze in the bitter cold.

According to the fire department, flames were visible in the kitchen of the home when they arrived.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office has been called to investigate the fire that is being called suspicious as there were no utilities connected to the vacant home.
