Dakota Access Pipeline is hosting press conferences along its route in Illinois to present donations to the Emergency Management Departments in each of the 12 counties traversed by the pipeline, including Bond, Fayette, and Marion counties.
The donations, offered in goodwill by the company, can be used by the departments to purchase new equipment, perform additional training, or for any needs that benefit their first responders. Each county will receive $20,000.
Dakota Access is also donating $60,000 each to the Illinois 4-H and Illinois FFA foundations.
A conference will be held from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, November 2, at Lincoln Land Community College auditorium at 1 Lincoln Land Drive in Litchfield for Macoupin, Montgomery, Bond, Fayette and Marion Counties.
