One of three Ohio men charged with moving a large amount of cannabis through Fayette County pleaded guilty to one of the more serious charges against him.

Heshimu Jones, 23, of Middletown, Ohio, pleaded guilty Wednesday in Fayette County Court to a Class X felony charge of manufacture with the intent to deliver more than 5,000 grams of cannabis in exchange for a Class X charge of cannabis trafficking and Class 1 felony charge of possessing more than 5,000 grams of cannabis being dismissed.

Jones was sentenced to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections along with a two year sentence for mandatory supervised release at the end of his prison term.

Co-defendants Juan Campos-Tavares was sentenced to six years in April, a Cordell Shelton is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing November 7.

All three were arrested on Nov. 2, 2016 by a Fayette County deputy.
