MT. VERNON — Jefferson County could revisit liquor license changes after a brief discussion at Monday night’s Jefferson County Board Meeting.
Earlier this year in March, the board had voted down possible changes to county code to allow more licenses in the four wet townships of Bald Hill, Blissville, Casner, and Webber. Talk quickly quieted after State’s Attorney Sean Featherstun told the group they couldn’t do much with the topic since it wasn’t on the agenda.
County Board Chairman Steve Draege then agreed that the topic would be on the agenda of the next Services Committee meeting.
The County Board on Monday also:
*Adopted a disclosure compliance procedure regarding the refunding of bonds;
*Approved a revised preliminary engineering agreement for Two Mile Creek;
*Approved a preliminary engineering agreement for Brownsville Road;
*Approved permission for the county engineer to buy a new pickup truck through Central; Management Services at a cost not to exceed $35,000;
*Appointed Michael Kroeschen to the Jefferson County Merit Commission;
*Re-appointed Herman Brown and Steve Bumpus to the Round Knoll Cemetery Board; and
*Heard an update from County Clerk Connie Simmons on receiving new voting equipment.
