CENTRALIA — Centralia police are searching for the suspect in an armed robbery late Tuesday night of the Casey’s General Store on East Noleman.
An alarm alerted police to a possible armed robbery at 10:07 p.m. The first units arrived on scene within less than one minute of the initial call.
Witnesses described the suspect as a white male, approximately 5-feet 10-inches tall. He reportedly entered the store wearing a red, black, and gray hooded sweatshirt, displayed a black handgun and demanded money. The suspect grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.
The suspect fled the store on a two-tone 20-inch bicycle with black front pegs. He was last seen riding eastbound in the 900 block of East McCord.

CPD was assisted by the Marion County Sheriff’s Department and the Illinois State Police. The Marion County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit assisted with tracking the suspect.
