WEST FRANKFORT — Some Morthland College students got a rude awakening when they tried to move into their dorm rooms Wednesday.
They found the doors to the dorms locked because the owner demanded payment of the first semester’s rent up front.
School officials were able to resolve the problem with the dorms yesterday afternoon after speaking to the owner and still reportedly plan to honor a promise of free tuition.
The college says it is financially sound even though it found itself in some tax trouble with the IRS a few months ago.
