MT. VERNON – An early Friday morning drug raid resulted in two arrests in Mt. Vernon.
The joint Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office High Risk Team served a search warrant at 615 Harrison Street.
26-year-old James Matthew Hicks and 26-year-old Meghan J. Hicks were taken into custody after quantities of heroin, methamphetamine, cannabis, schedule II narcotics, drug equipment and currency were located inside the home.
James Hicks has been charged with: Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Schedule II Narcotics with Intent to Deliver and Possession of Drug Equipment. He is currently in the Jefferson County Justice Center with bond to be set.
Meghan Hicks was charged with Possession of Drug Equipment. Bond has been set at $1,500.
The arrests are the result of a narcotic sales investigation by the MVPD/JCSO Joint Narcotics Division.
