Tony Cunningham was arrested in September 2016 on a warrant charging him with four counts aggravated criminal sexual abuse — each is a Class 2 felony.

According to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, the charges accuse Cunningham of committing sexual acts with two females between the ages of 13 and 17.

The incidents involving one of the girls allegedly took place between May and August of 2015, while the charges involving the other girl allegedly too place between September 1 and 30 of 2015.

At the time of the warrant arrest Cunningham was a martial arts instructor at Aiki Shin Tai Dojo in Centralia.

In response to the case, the Clinton County Court issued two orders of protection against Cunningham.

He was in court last month on the felony case and at that time the court extended both protection orders until November 27 – the same date his is scheduled for a jury trial on the sex abuse charges.

Cunningham was convicted in 1994 of the same Class 2 felony charge of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim between the ages of 13 and 16, and was sentenced to 4-years probation.

He was initially charged, however, with both the Class 2 charge and a more serious Class 1 felony charge of criminal sexual assault, which was dismissed.

A final pre-trial hearing in the case was scheduled for November 16. He’ll likely appear in court Friday on the protection order violation charge.
