WAYNE COUNTY — Fatigue is to blame for a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 64 in Wayne County early Sunday morning.

Illinois State Police reports indicate that 38-year-old Angela M. Dunn of Goreville was traveling westbound in a minivan near milepost 112 when her vehicle left to the roadway to the right as a result of her falling asleep. Dunn’s vehicle traveled through thick brush for approximately 100 feet before striking a tree and coming to rest.

A female juvenile passenger was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of injuries. The incident occurred at 1:30 a.m.

Dunn was cited for improper lane usage and driving on an expired license.
