(SALEM, IL) — Bail has been set at $20,000 for a 21-year-old Centralia man arrested Wednesday night on drug-related charges and an outstanding Marion County warrant. Quienton Jolliff was arrested after Centralia police stopped him outside the Centralia museum. Officers discovered Jolliff was wanted on an outstanding Marion County warrant for failure to appear on a 2015 case in which he was convicted of felony possession of less than 15 grams of meth precursors. As officers were taking Jolliff into custody on the warrant, he allegedly attempted to resist being handcuffed. He was subsequently pepper sprayed and taken to the ground before being successfully cuffed. Officers then searched Jolliff and reportedly discovered cannabis and a baggie containing the methamphetamine drug ICE in his shirt pockets. Jolliff remains in the Marion County Jail. He’s next scheduled to appear in court August 22 for a preliminary hearing.
