(CARBONDALE, IL) — A Carbondale man was arrested on drug and gun charges after the Marion Police Department’s Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant Wednesday at a home in the 1000 block of Midway Court. Marion Police Chief Dawn Tondini says 36-year-old Reggie L. Cavitt was found at the home and was issued citations for felon in possession of a weapon, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver 30 to 500 grams and possession of a controlled substance. Beside this arrest, Cavitt was also wanted on an outstanding Jackson County warrant in reference to a shooting that happened in May 2016 in Carbondale. After officers made their way into the home, they recovered and seized one firearm, various types of ammunition, cocaine, one quarter pound of cannabis, various packaging materials, weighing equipment and $7,000 in cash. Cavitt is lodged in the Williamson County Jail awaiting future court proceedings.
