(Cairo, IL)  —  Federal housing officials are trying to set appointments with families who’ll soon be leaving Cairo. HUD yesterday said it has a relocation official in Cairo and ready to help nearly 200 families move out of a pair of decrepit public housing complexes. Many of the families are furious, but HUD said the homes are beyond repair and are dangerous to live in.
