(SALEM, IL) — Centralia police arrested two people Monday night for alleged drug and firearms offenses. According to reports, 29-year-old Jordan Heern and 23-year-old Rachelle Emmert, both of Centralia, were arrested after U.S. Marshal’s agents had been at Emmert’s home searching for a wanted individual earlier in the day and reportedly noted drugs in the home and alerted CPD. When Centralia officers responded, they reportedly found drug paraphernalia and a backpack carrying a loaded handgun and 66-grams of a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Both Heern and Emmert were taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail. Heern was formally charged Tuesday morning in court with Class 1 felony possession of between 15 and 100 grams of meth, Class 2 felony being a felon in possession of a firearm, and Class 4 felony possession of a controlled substance. Emmert was charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
