(FAIRFIELD, IL) — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is reporting they have arrested a 32-year-old fugitive wanted for a parole violation. Brett S. Turok was arrested early Friday morning at a rural Wayne County residence near Bluford. Turok, who was wanted by the U.S. Marshal Service on a federal warrant, was reportedly found hiding in a closet of the residence. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Wayne County Jail. Turok, who was from Vienna, was sentenced in 2012 to 10 years in federal prison on a one-count superseding indictment charging conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine. The conspiracy offense occurred between 2009, and July 25, 2011, in Jackson and Williamson Counties. Evidence at the plea and sentencing hearings established that Turok was involved with others in the manufacture of methamphetamine. Turok supplied pseudoephedrine pills, stole anhydrous, and was also involved in the manufacturing process. The district court found that Turok was responsible for the production of 840 grams of methamphetamine. Turok’s sentence was enhanced based on the use of violence during the conspiracy. Three co-defendants have previously pled guilty and been sentenced to prison terms ranging from 120-262 months. Turok’s sentence was enhanced based on the use of violence during the conspiracy. He was ordered to serve 5-years mandatory supervised release — also known as parole — at the completion of his prison term.
