(CARBONDALE, IL) — Carbondale Police have identified the person allegedly involved in a January arson at a Carbondale apartment building. Police recently released a picture of the alleged suspect in the case and were able to identify that person thanks to help from the public and local media outlets. Police did not release any information regarding the suspect only to say that the person is cooperating in the ongoing investigation. Police and Carbondale firefighters went to Marion Street Apartments, located at 300 E. Main St., around 12:20 a.m. on Jan. 25 for a small fire that scorched the exterior wall of the building. The fire was quickly put out by the fire department. No injuries were reported. Anyone with information about the arson should call Carbondale Police at 457-3200 or Crime Stoppers at 549-COPS.
