(MT. VERNON, IL) — County water customers will see higher water bills thanks to the Mt. Vernon City Council.  At the meeting Tuesday Evening, the Council approved the resolutions for the establishment of a capital improvement fee for the Villages of Woodlawn at a cost of $380.94 per month, Dix-Kell Water Commission at cost of $190.40 per month, and for Bluford, Bell Rive, Waltonville, and the Northeast Water Company, each at a cost of $126.57 per month. A conditional sign permit for Wes Rogers Tire and Auto, Inc. was approved, as was an agreement for engineering services with Rhutasel and Associates, Inc. for the Richview Road resurfacing project. In other business, a first reading establishing a mountain bike park and designating mountain bike trails at Jaycee Lake was given and approved. The park and trails will be funded through volunteer funding. The Council was granted permission to seek bids for Lincoln Park concessions. Finally, the Mayor announced the appointment of Eric Gockel to the Park Board.
