(MT. VERNON, IL) — Citizens in smaller Jefferson County communities may find out this evening how their future water bills may look as The Mt. Vernon City Council is scheduled to meet this evening due to the President’s Day Holiday. Among items on the agenda, The City Attorney will read resolutions for the establishment of a capital improvement fee for the Villages of Woodlawn, Bluford, Bell Rive, Waltonville, Dix-Kell Water Commission, and the Northeast Water Company, approving a conditional sign permit for Wes Rogers Tire and Auto, Inc., and approving an agreement for engineering services with Rhutasel and Associates, Inc. for the Richview Road resurfacing project; an ordinance petition for a rezoning of property at 1300 George Street from Light Industrial to Secondary Business, and first readings regarding ordinances authorizing the transfer of municipal real property at 145 Opdyke, establishing a mountain bike park and designating mountain bike trails at Jaycee Lake, and vacation of an alley. The Council will also ask for permission to seek bids for Lincoln Park concessions. The City Manager will submit for preliminary and final consideration for Klein Subdivision for property located at 14175 North Memory Lane. Finally, the Mayor will submit approval for the appointment of Eric Gockel to the Park Board. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Rolland W. Lewis Building.
