CLAY COUNTY — Bail has been set at $1 million for a 39-year-old Olney man charged in Clay County with multiple felonies in connection with an alleged armed home invasion in Flora.

George T. Grove is charged with Class X armed home invasion, Class 1 bringing a weapon into a penal institution, Class 3 felony intimidation and Class 3 aggravated stalking, Class 4 harassment, and misdemeanor violation of a protection order already served.

According to Flora Police Chief John Nicholson, his officers responded early Wednesday morning to a 911 call from a distraught female stating a male subject was inside her apartment.

Upon arrival Flora Police Officers located a male subject, identified as Grove, inside the apartment, who then jumped out of a second-story window in an effort to escape from the scene.

A foot pursuit ensued with Flora officers catching the male subject approximately two blocks away.

Grove was then taken into custody and transported to Clay County Jail where he remains.
