BALDWIN, Ill. (AP) — The Houston-based operator of the Baldwin Energy Complex says one of the power plant’s three coal-powered generating units will shut down by October. Dynegy Inc. announced in May that it plans to shutter two of its units at the Baldwin Energy Complex and one unit at the Newton Power Station over the next year. The Belleville News-Democrat reports that the shutdowns are still pending approval from the region’s power grid operator.
