(PINCKNEYVILLE, IL) — A 52-year-old Pinckneyville woman will spend six years in prison for stealing more than $240,000 from the Pinckneyville Rural Fire Protection District. Tammy Kellerman, the former bookkeeper for the fire protection district, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Perry County Criminal Court to one count of theft of government funds over $100,000, a Class X felony, one count of official misconduct, a Class 3 felony, and one count of filing a fraudulent Illinois income tax return, a Class 4 felony Kellerman’s sentencing comes less than a month after she pleaded guilty to federal charges in the case and was sentenced to more than two years in prison. Kellerman’s state and federal sentences will run at the same time. Kellerman will also have to work to repay the cash she stole.
