(MT. VERNON, IL) — Authorities with the Mt. Vernon Police Department were alerted Monday of a hot line tip that the Department of Children and Family Services received regarding alleged abuse of a Mt. Vernon juvenile.  A MVPD detective and a DCFS agent investigated the tip and at the conclusion of the investigation, arrested 24 year old Jesse D. Glover of Mt. Vernon on a Class 3 Felony Charge of Aggravated Battery of a Child under the age of 13.  The child was transported to a local health professional for examination. Glover was transported to the Jefferson County Justice Center for incarceration with bond to be set.  Glover is considered innocent until proven guilty.
