(WEST FRANKFORT, IL) — West Frankfort police have arrested a Michigan man wanted for triple homicide. Police Chief Shawn Talluto told WSIL-TV that Kenneth Daniel Brunke of Manistique, Michigan was taken into custody Sunday at a home in the 200 block of South Gardner Street. He was arrested on a Michigan warrant for three counts of homicide. Last Friday, Michigan State Police began investigating a fatal vehicle fire in Doyle Township. The bodies of three people were found inside the burned vehicle. They were later identified as 42-year-old Jody Hutchinson of Gould City, Michigan, and sisters 31-year-old Carrie Nelson 31 and 25-year-old Heather Aldrich, both of the Newberry, Michigan area. Michigan investigators contacted West Frankfort Police after Brunke was named a person of interest. West Frankfort officers began around-the-clock surveillance of Brunke early Friday. Talluto says Brunke only left the home on Gardner Street twice before his arrest, once to go to a local fast food restaurant and once to a tire shop in Marion. Brunke is being held without bond at the Franklin County Jail.
