(Jackson Co., IL) — A Jackson County woman will serve two years in prison for lying to police about a fake abduction. Prosecutors say Joyce Gibbs called authorities in October 2013 claiming she was kidnapped at gunpoint. The DeSoto woman also told police that she was taken to a state park and raped. Investigators later discovered the abduction never happened.
