(WASHINGTON COUNTY, IL) — A single vehicle personal injury crash occurred Saturday afternoon on Route 15 eastbound a quarter mile west of Beaucoup Township Line Road in Washington County. At 4:07 p.m., A Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by 23 year old Jonathan D. Edwards of Nashville, lost control while negotiating a curve. The motorcycle exited the outside of the curve and struck a ditch embankment. Edwards was ejected at that point. The motorcycle continued on, traveling approximately 227 feet off of the roadway before striking a tree and coming to final rest. Edwards was transported to Saint Louis University Hospital and was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. Edwards was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
