WEST FRANKFORT – A man is facing drug charges following a traffic stop in West Frankfort early Wednesday morning.

Franklin County Sheriff Kyle Bacon says 42-year-old Carl G. Foster Jr. of West Frankfort was arrested and charged with felony Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine and felony Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Deliver. He was lodged in the Franklin County Jail.

Foster was stopped by West Frankfort Police in the city around 12:20 a.m.

Sheriff K9 Vader was called in to do a free air sniff outside the vehicle that rendered positive results. Thirty-eight grams of meth along with electronic scales and $4,300 in cash were seized.

West Frankfort Police handled Foster’s arrest and continues to investigate.
