MT. VERNON – The Mt. Vernon Rotary Club celebrated the conclusion of a stellar year and the induction of new leaders at the final meeting of their year Tuesday. 

After recapping highlights from the year – which included 10 community service projects, five high school scholarships, and $5,400 in community contributions – outgoing President Kevin Settle passed the gavel to Aletta Lawrence.

Special awards were also given on behalf of the club. Longtime member Ron Kirsch was awarded an honorary Paul Harris Fellow and longtime member Doug Kroeschen was given a Service above Self award for their outstanding club contributions.

Additional Presidential Citations were given to Jamie Storey, Tom Francois, John Fields, Ryan Campbell, Mary Harvey, and Hillary Esser.

The Mount Vernon Rotary club meets every Tuesday at noon at Joe’s Pizza.
