CENTRALIA — Doris Copple, 94, of Centralia, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia, Illinois.

She was born November 22, 1929 in Centralia, IL, the daughter of Almon Radley and Leudine (Riley) Meyers. On April 21, 1951, she married Delbert Copple in Mt. Vernon, IL and he preceded her in death on November 18, 2019.

Doris is survived by her daughter: Lynn Bain and husband Jon of Walnut Hill; three grandchildren: Justin Bain of Walnut Hill, Emily Bain of Walnut Hill, and Jaimie Squibb of Centralia; five great-grandchildren: Kingston, Harlow, Waylon, Wyatt, and Remington; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one daughter: Lisa Copple.

Doris retired from Illinois Bell after 35 years. She was an avid card player and always enjoyed playing with her friends. She had a passion for flower gardening and taking care of her yard. Doris was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was also a member of the Calumet Street Christian Church.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor Anthony Sweeney officiating. Burial will follow at Boyd Cemetery in Boyd, Illinois. Visitation will be held Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the Funeral Home.
