CENTRALIA — Authorities are investigating the crash of a small plane Saturday afternoon near Centralia that took the life of one occupant and injured another.
According to the Centralia Fire Protection District, a small, single-engine plane crashed into a swimming pool around 12:43 p.m. Saturday of a home in the 1500 block of Woods Lane, less than a mile from the Centralia Municipal Airport.
One occupant of the plane was pronounced dead at the scene while a second was airlifted from a nearby landing spot to a regional hospital.
The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the cause of the crash. The plane’s destination remains unclear..
