ODIN — An early morning fire caused heavy damage Sunday to an Odin home and an RV parked in the driveway.
Firefighters responded just before 1 a.m. Sunday to a home in the 100 block of North Merritt Street in Odin.
Upon arrival, firefighters spotted flames coming through the front and side windows of the home and reaching a motor home parked nearby.
The home owner was reportedly living in the motor home while remodeling the house. When power to the RV was lost, the occupants became aware of the fire, which is believed to have been electrical in nature.
Salem, Sandoval and Centralia City firefighters provided mutual aid, with Salem providing a ladder truck and Sandoval an engine. Centralia City firefighters provided coverage at the Odin Fire Station.
No injuries were reported and firefighters remained on scene until around 3 a.m. Sunday.
